Nebraska Football: Bye-Bye Bo

Written during 3rd quarter with Wisconsin winning 63-17.

After the Iowa game I said:

I've never believed "a win is a win" because if you struggle to get by Iowa (and everybody else on your B10 schedule except Minnesota) and get blown off the field by the best team in the conference, that generally means you are going to be walloped by a Top 10 team. You're not as good as 10-2 would lead you to believe. It would not surprise me if Wisconsin is favored. Even the 9-2 or 10-1 Osborne teams, which generally looked good during the regular season, got beat solidly in bowl games (until the 90s, of course) because winning a game doesn't necessarily mean you're playing at a high level compared to the best teams in the nation. Solich was fired right after winning a 9th game because the only good teams on the schedule blasted NU.

I feel bad for Tom Osborne. His legacy of "saving" or "restoring" the program is blown to pieces.

Boycott the bowl game if the Not-Ready-for-Prime-Time (after 5 years) coaching staff is not fired. If Bo Pelini has any class he'll resign.

Enough of this garbage about marine drill instructors and leadership training and we all love each other and stick together. This team quit after one quarter.

Hello, Bill O'Brien. Penn State is one of the few situations that might look worse than NU right now.
