Two Prayer Drives for Election

I ran out of time Saturday to explain these projects.

The Nineveh Journey is 50 days of prayer and fasting in a nonpartisan effort to promote conversion of American citizens and political leaders to a pro-life viewpoint.

Starting Sep. 6, TNJ targets one state and prays for conversion of its candidates for all offices that engage in pro-life issues. With the exception of Sundays, TNJ marches on through the alphabet each day. Alabama Sep. 6. Alaska Sep. 8. Arizona Sep. 9. Arkansas Sep. 10. And so on to Wyoming Nov. 3, the eve of the election.

It was started by Catholics and there's a prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe, but skip over the Marian devotion if that's not your cup of tea and focus on the push for conversion to a pro-life viewpoint.

40 Days for Life is a national prayer campaign that will run from Sep. 24 to Nov. 2. It's a 3-point program: 1) prayer and fasting, 2) constant vigil, and 3) community outreach.

Nebraskans United for Life is the local sponsoring group. Click here for more on 40 Days for Life.

If you're the praying kind, pool your efforts with others seeking the same goal. Did you think someone like Sarah Palin would end up running for vice president? I read somewhere that nothing is impossible with God.
