Judge Not, Keeper of Cyber Glass House

The judge presiding over the obscenity case had an obscene personal web site?

He's Alex Kozinski, chief judge of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. That court, based in San Francisco and serving the West Coast, is sometimes called the 9th Circus because of the crazy rulings it has produced. It's the court that let an atheist block a public school from using the words "under God" when reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

If you saw the Kozinski revelation in a TV show you would dismiss it as impossibly cheesy trash. But in the age of Clinton, the guy probably will become a star. He will come out of it the victim.

But he'll get a rough ride on Check with Chip tomorrow.

Given yesterday's Supreme Court ruling on "constitutional rights" for terroists at Gitmo, some smart congressman or senator should introduce a constitutional amendment to remove life time Federal court terms and instead have a mandatory retirement at age 65. President Bush should have had the Justice Department "reorganize" the 9th circuit out of existence long ago.
