Black Candidate Is a Positive Development

Barack Obama is the WRONG black candidate. I wish it was J.C. Watts. But it's OK to note that a person with an abundance of melanin in his skin pigmentation has been nominated for the highest office in the land.

I won't vote for him. He's scary left -- to the degree he offers any specifics at all -- on policy, and he's the kind of snooty elitist I can't stand.

But there was a time when a black presidential candidate was unthinkable -- and more so on the Democratic ticket. It was congressional Democrats who tried to block the civil rights legislation of the 1960s.

Race relations is the most significant issue in American history. It predated the birth of the country, it poisoned the Constitution, it almost destroyed the country, and it produced a century of American apartheid from which we are finally starting to emerge.

I hope he loses, but it's a sign of progress in race relations that Obama has been nominated by a major party for the presidency.

I'm left wondering how many and how big will be the riots if Obama happens to lose in November??? The mainstream media will fan the flames of the Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Rev. Wright types on election day/night if it looks like the socialist candidate is losing and they will be promoting the "it was racism" theme even more than they are doing now. Does anyone have any doubts that Ernie Chambers,Ben Gray and the faculty of the UNO "black studies" department won't be agitating for a riot in North O if Obama loses???
