Is It OK to "Import" Campaign Dollars?

Harold Andersen criticized Adrian Smith's acceptance of campaign donations from sources outside Nebraska. Or maybe I should say he criticized "intrusions" of campaign contributions from outside Nebraska.

The "foreigners" have to live under laws made by members of Congress. Somebody in New York is governed by laws crafted in part by representatives and senators from Nebraska. Seems to me a New Yorker has a direct interest in who is elected in Nebraska.

Also, as a politician who does not have a personal fortune to tap, I want to be able to raise money from wherever I can. Philosophy, not geography, should be the determining factor.

We're gonna talk about this tomorrow on Check with Chip.
